|
|
The diversity of music featured on UAB is overwhelming, spanning many genres and vintages. I've been introduced to all kinds of music that I would not have been exposed to otherwise.
I'm wondering what albums (or individual tracks) ya'll have purchased primarily based upon hearing them played on UAB (not necessarily at the Parks themselves).
My list:
Ragtime at the Magical Kingdoms, Chris Calabrese
Sherman Brothers Songbook, Robert B. and Richard M. Sherman
(for "Meet the World")
We'll Meet Again: The Love Songs of World War II
(several songs from the Disneyland Jungle Cruise queue)
Nightflight, Christian Buehner & Helge Schroeder ("Icarus")
"Grasslands" by Checkfield
(both from Wonders of Life)
"Hidden Pathways" by Bruce Mitchell
(from Tomorrowland)
What about the rest of ya'll? |

I've purchaed a number of CD's as a result of tracks here. I've also purchased CD's because of being in the parks and listening to the attractions and music. _________________ When you're curious, you find lots of interesting things to do.

I just picked up The Trinidad & Tobago Showboat Steel Orchestra CD on Amazon. It includes my two favorite steel drum tracks from UAB: "Hunger" and "Santa Marta".
I like these guys! |

I buy a lot of park music.
From UAB I really wanted to find the illuminations soundtrack--and it isn't available at WDW. When I asked about it, though, the cast member gave me a listing of all the locations and songs used in the film.
I guess if I want it I'll have to go for the regular tracks.

I discovered Vera Lynn from the ToT area music, and I've bought some of her stuff. Also, I wound up getting into Wanda Jackson because of Country Bear Jamboree (Tears Will be the Chaser for Your Wine).
UD, thanks for the list - I'm going to check out We'll Meet Again! _________________ Beth's Blog |

Maybe this is a stupid question, but where do you buy different Disney parks music? |

Kind of depends on what you're looking for. I have at least a couple dozen park albums as well as a bunch of other assorted stuff. They release a new theme park album each year, one for DLR and one for WDW. They used to be really varied but, for the last 5-8 years, they have had the same track listings each year with maybe 2-3 tracks getting rotated out. I would suggest the 50th Anniversary DLR CD if you can find it because the firework show was awesome. If you aren't concerned with having a physical disc in hand, I would go to Disney's Official Music Site. They have some great albums available to buy/download including the awesome Carthay Circle tracks we have on here. That also has the added benefit of showing the Disney execs that park audio is in demand.
There's some starting information for you. What else would you like to know. Park music/audio has always been a passion of mine. _________________ '00 - Studios Merch (Stage 1/Tatooine Traders/Coaster Photo/Fantasmic), '05-'06 - Attractions (KSR), Dinoland Merch, '06-'07 - Concierge (Multiple Resorts), '07-'08 - Dream Squad (Aminal Kingdom), '10 - DVC Member Services |

Thanks for the info! My dad has one of the WDW park albums from around 2005 or 2006. It has a great selection of songs. I noticed they are releasing a new one but it does appear to be basically the same songs. |
