Need your opinion on Animal Kingdom Lodge

I am planning a trip to Walt Disney World around early December (I want to see all the Christmas decorations!). I have never stayed at the Animal Kingdom Lodge before and I was wondering if early December was not a good time to try it. Will it be too cold to see a lot of animals? Otherwise, I was thinking of staying at the French Quarter.

Any thoughts/advice? Thanks!!

Does "PLEASE Take me with you" count as a thought or advise?

I've never been able to stay at AKL, but a friend stayed there last Nov and said she had a great time. Enjoyed the animals and room.

Of course she had good weather that entire trip.
Last time I was down in Dec it was in the 40's

We've stayed at AKL a couple of times. I like the hotel, the theming and all. The only thing I've disliked is that it is SO far away from everything else in "The World". And I've stayed in French Quarter and love it there, but AKL is really nice. And make sure to get a Savana view room!!

I done some reading on AKL - the two biggest complaints was location and size of the room. My daughter really wants to check it out so I figured since we are only doing a long weekend in December and not a week or more, that would be the perfect time to check it out. On the plus side, some of my favorite restaurants are at AKL We will definitely do the savannah view!

I have stayed at French quarter before and loved it!!

We have stayed at the AKL resort and the AKL- DVC and both were really nice. I would go back again and again.
