My wife's been tracking this closely - she's specifically watching room rates. The food discount has never worked for us since I generally want to each all the things not on the food plan (except for the occasional banana)
Even with room rate, though, we hadn't planned on a WDW trip this year, so we didn't budget for it. Still, if the gettin' is good ...

If it helps, I was quoted just shy of $2400 for 2 ppl - moderate hotel, 5 night, 6 day park hopper pass with the 5 night quick service dining plan (2 counter service meals, 2 snacks, refillable resort mug)
