Well I did...
I bought an ice cream machine and have started making my own Dole Whip.
Ive only made a couple batches so far, but I'm impressed.
I got the Cuisinart ICE-20 at the local mall for $40
http://www.cuisinart.com/catalog/product.php?product_id=45&item_id=82&cat_id=10
And what I think is the official Dole Whip mix from Unified Enterprises Corp in Hawaii.
http://www.uec-hawaii.com/products2.html
The way it works is by freezing a liquid in a metal encased bowl, and then adding the mix to it while it churns and scrapes the frozen product off the sides as it hardens. I did knock the freezer down a few degrees too.
Im amazed by how close to the original I can make. It tastes perfect, and it's a little "fluffy" just like the real thing. I tried to freeze the leftovers, but that didnt turn out at all. It got way to hard. So from now on I have to eat thte whole batch in one sitting I guess |

COOL IDEA!
Know where I can pick up some animatronic birds? (Of course I don't have a basement either, so I'll have to pick up one of those or convince the wife to redo the bedroom...) |

Buy a house near DL or WDW and you could start your own business! |

My wife just found out that you can make dole whips at home I see a soft serve machine in our future. Of course if that happens we will have to get the poly music going for effect. _________________ Jason

Im on my second bag of the Dole whip now
Still enjoying as much as the first batch too.
I did sit down to the computer with a bowl of Dole Whip, and play Tiki Room music and watch a a slideshow of Adventureland pictures I put together. Almost as fun as the real thing... no, but not bad for being in my basement. |
