|
|
Hi all!
I am sooooo excited!! My family and I are taking our first ever cruise. We are taking a 4-night disney Cruise to the Bahamas on July 5th!
I'm looking for any tips that you all might have - everything from shore excursions to stuff to do on the boat. We have our resevations for Palo all set, but were wondering about what to do in Nassau and Castaway Cay.
Did I mention that I am REALLY excited??? |

My advice for Nassau:
stay on the ship!
(if you like casinos as much as me, then Atlantis is worth the effort to check it out) |

Enjoy. And don't let all those silly news stories about cruise ship illnesses and so many people "disappearing" worry you. It could never happen to you.
Make sure you bring the running shoes for all those pre-dawn runs on the deck. _________________ [ |

Got it :
1. Wash Hands frequently
2. Don't fall overboard
3. Run daily (as if you needed to tell me that one = 3 laps around deck 4 = 1 mile ) |

I didn't care for Nassau, and Atlantis would be the only place I'd want to check out. Check what shore excursions are being offered. I learned on another cruise line it's a good idea unless you want to look at the same chotzky shops in every Caribbean port (so it seems). Also, bring along a travel bottle of Purell in case you don't have easy access to a restroom to wash your hands. I really enjoyed Castaway Key at the adult beach; had a few drinks and went in the gorgeous waters and saw a lot of sea life. I went sea kayaking there as well which was a blast. |

Thanks!
we're really looking forward to Castaway Cay. As for Nassau, we looking through the list of shore excursions to see if there is anything we'd be like. |

Um, not that I was asked but I support Kraysister completely. How can you leave her behind? The poor girl?
Um, she is the younger one right? Then it is simply cruel to tease her like this...Besides, you will need someone to carry the luggage/souveners and stuff...
Any other SiS/Sis Bro/Bro Bro/sis teams from Utilidors want to weigh in on this? And no I admit I did not take my twin from UAB to DL with me so I am not practicin what I preach but I did take his daughters!!! |

shhh...we try not to encourage her
My dear sister has been to WDW with me many, manty times - including my TWO most rcent trips. Besides, she's way too busy to get away from work.
However, the "family member as sherpa" to carry my bags does have merit. Can she fetch me my drinks as well??? I may have to rethink this plan..... |

CC is definitely the high point.
If you do want to do Atlantis AND gain entry to the water park, we actually found it to be a lot cheaper than Disney to book a room for the day at a small motel across the street from Atlantis. With this room you can get free entry to Atlantis to swim, gamble, etc. Also, this gives you a room to change in/nap in so that you don't have to use Atlantis' public facilities. I think it might've been a Motel 6 or something; I can't recall. You may want to check on other hotels in the area.
Hope this helps! |

Um, Meant nothing bad by "younger one" it is just that they make better 'Sherpa" as you put it. (Speaking as the 240 second older).
Hey, they can carry drinks, wave that big "fan on a stick", help with the pedicure, peel grapes...
(Not sure Kraysister thinks I am helping now...) |

I've never been on a cruise of any kind, but we will be next June for our daughters graduation present. So from that end I have nothing to offer...
But...since I know ONE of the Kray clan real well, and I know she's DYING for another trip, how could you even THINK of excluding her? I mean, between her and Kray's Goldfish, plus the "younger" sis, you could just sit back and relax from the second you land at the port! You could even make them watch your boys!
You need to think about this ALOT more! _________________ When you're curious, you find lots of interesting things to do.
