Glad to see your trip was awesome. That drive to Orlando from Illinois can be a brutal one. Hopefully, you had some good tunes to keep you entertained.
How busy were the parks? I'm just curious as it's the summer, yet Disney keeps saying they are off their attendance from YA.
for the most part, the parks looked very busy. Test track line was 120 minutes...same with Soarin' ,Splash Mountain, and Everest. We got into most of the shows without a big problem.
as for the tunes...we actually found a site that gives you every radio station along your route....along with their coverage area. When you start to lose a signal...you move on to the next station. No more dialing up and down the dial trying to find something. We also had a few cd's...so of course with Disney Tunes (thanks Jason). I played those during the last hour of the trip there, and the first hour of the trip back. I didn't want to get the family too mad at me.
all in all, we utilized the fast pass system to our advantage. The only line that was really unbearable was Toy Story Mania. They said the wait was 80 minutes....closer to 95 or so.
Just to set the record straight...I was NOT napping.........I was just resting my eyes!
Don't let them get to you Angus. Some people don't appreciate and understand a true Off Kilter fan. Bruce and I would have waited too. _________________ [
Magical Express packet came in the mail at the beginning of the week. It's actually happening! Oh boy oh boy oh boy oh boy oh boy oh boy oh boy
Oh, also I think I mentioned this, but we are going to be there and are going to the our first Not So Scary Halloween Party. We are thinking of dressing up. We have an idea, but are taking suggestions. It will be one adorably cute little 23 month old girl, one lovely and glowing 5 1/2 month pregnant Mommy (yes, we are officially expecting #2) and finally one overly excited Daddy. And suggestions for this motley trio of folks would be welcomed.
Well, a couple of years ago, deb, Elizabeth and I went as The Queen of Hearts, Alice and the Mad Hatter, and that was a lot of fun. You could be Huey, Dewy, and Louie or Pooh, Pigglet and Eeyore, or Pirates, or ghosts from the Haunted Mansion (we knew a couple who dressed at the Mayor on the TNT barrel and the tight-rope girl from the stretch room, they looked awesome). Maybe Snow White, the Hag and the Woodsman? How about Lightning McQueen, Flo, and Sally? Mickey, Minnie and Pluto? Peter Pan, Wendy and Tink?
Oh the list goes on and on
Wait...What about Toad, Badger and Mole?!?!?!?!?! _________________ When you're curious, you find lots of interesting things to do.

Fellow UAB'ers. We have booked for January 2010, and the resort rates have not been released yet. Please keep your eyes open for any announcement that room only rates and discounts have been released. If I remember correctly, AAA discount is usually released about August. We like to get right on this since i know that there are limited numbers of rooms.
I'll be watching all the usual sites for this information. But if you see it, please let me know.
Disney has finally figured out that they can raise room rates during Marathon Weekend. This happens in Value season, although weekend rates are a bit higher. This year they have increased the rates starting on Thursday, which is when the expo starts. So in the midst of value season, January 7 - 10 sees an increase. And this in a year where the marathon won't fill it's 22,000 slots, and the Goofy Challenge is still open. (They increased the closts for Gofy because it is the 5th anniversary, but it still has openings.) There are many people who live somewhat locally and drive to the races, or stay off property. Increased rates may just be the determining factor in more people opting to stay outside of the park. The last few years WDW has sold out rooms for the weekend. We'll see how this year goes. _________________ [
Can you stand this woman? Nothing like rubbing your nose in her trips. But at least this keeps her getting up and going to work everyday. _________________ [
I'll have her recheck her math. I only keep track of how many miles until Marathon Weekend. When I run my last 20 miler, I know there are 3 weeks to go. _________________ [

It's been brought to my attention that my calculations are a bit off.
Must have been the English Rose I was drinking at the time.
