Jim Hill is reporting that Tron 2 scenes have been shown at this years Comic Con. I am a huge Tron geek and this news excites me. I think that the Tron universe has some interesting stories left to be told and I am looking forward and hoping that this movie gets made. What do you all think about this news? _________________ Jason

It's a story that deserves another telling. While the effects for back in 1982 were great, imagine what they could do now. I'll be looking forward to hearing more about it. |

Wow... Tron 2.
so much has changed with computers since Tron 1. The entire explosion in networking, multiple machine communication, multiple processors, et al.
This could be a very exciting movie. I've often felt a Tron/Computer Science pavillion at Epcot was in order.... But hopefully more than what they had at innoventions. How to keep it current would be an issue. |

Funny thing, they showed more footage and artworks from Tron 2 at this years Comic Con. They also announced the title: Tron Legacy
Here is the basis for the movie, from the movie's star Jeff Bridges: "It's basically a story about a son's search for his father. The first TRON... when we made that in '81 there was no internet. Cell phones were these big things you carried around in a suitcase! So what you saw was so new and fresh... I can guarantee you'll get the same kind of pop with this one!"
AICN has some details from today's panel:
This link shows the new artwork: http://www.aintitcool.com/node/41789
While this link has a high res image of the movie's title card: http://www.aintitcool.com/node/41791
Notice something at the bottom of the title card.... IMAX 3-D! Sweet!
Also, here is the teaser that was show at Comic Con: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DPGWYAUF3v4
Better watch it as quickly as you can, the Alice in Wonderland teaser was pulled almost immedately after it was posted yesterday _________________ Up or Down North, South, East, or West An Adventurer's Life is Best! |

More Comic Con goodness (Disney was the first major panel/presentation of the event, which is why it has been mostly Disney so far. But the Twilight panel was last night also, so for all pros there are cons )
The new Tron Light Cycles Debuted: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lrew4XtbjrU
Disney even recreated Flynn's Arcade with actual working games: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BHIRCjr1DM
Disney has been doing a fantastic job with this year's panel, especially with Tron Legacy! _________________ Up or Down North, South, East, or West An Adventurer's Life is Best! |

That's very cool.
I always liked the original Tron and with all the speical efficts and CGI that is
around today it should be a very cool movie.
Like a giant video game on the big screen, what's not to like. |

We saw Inception at the IMAX theatre last weekend, and Tron Legacy was one of the trailers. Seriously, the Tron trailer was worth the ticket price all by itself. It looks amazing! _________________ Beth's Blog |
