Posted: Wed Aug 17, 2011 6:18 am Post subject: Lost Louis Prima Demo Song for The Rescuers...
A few days ago, Cartoon Brew posted an article about a demo song that Louis Prima and the boys created and recorded for the Disney film, The Rescuers. This version of the film, was to be pretty different from the one that we all know and love (some of us) today.
The original film, devised as a vehicle for Prima's voice talents, was to be about a brown bear in a zoo (Prima) who enlists the helps of two mice in order to break free from his caged environment and return to the wild where he and his new friends could make their way to the North Pole to save his friends, who I assume are polar bears, or something like that.
Unfortunately, Prima died before the project could be completed, so Disney had to scrap the entire project and start from scratch, giving you the film that we have today (and one that I think is better than the promise of this never-was version, as much as I do like Louis Prima).

I can not say any particular piece was exposed to me through Disney, but I will admit to finding a lot of enjoyment in some of the tracks from Fantasia.
