Disney-Pixar Studios?!?! ÂºoÂº

A good friend of mine who works as a manager at the Disney-MGM Studios told me they have been told the new name of the park will be announced as the Disney-Pixar Studios Theme Park some time at the end of this year. Has anyone else heard this?

I have heard the same rumor on a couple of pod casts. I also wonder if all of the MGM licensed items will be removed. Will the great movie ride exist as it is now?

Would much rather see the Great Movie Ride highlight Disney's classic live-action movies (Absent Minded Professor, Bednobs and Broomsticks, 20,000 Leagues, etc...)...

As a CM at the Great Movie Ride for 5 years, we heard rumors of rehab when the MGM drops off of Disney Studios all the time. We have heard it so much, it's very much crying wolf when some new rumor pops up. Anyways, I think they will not add the Pixar and just name it Disney Studios Florida.

Although a name change would make sense..... since there are almost no ties to MGM anymore and more ties to Pixar (outside of Pixar being owned by Disney).....

But I agree, I think they would just drop to Disney Studios Florida, instead of the Disney/Pixar Studios.....

On this I agree with. I like The Pixar movies but somehow it really wouldn't make much sense except maybe from a franchising standpoint.

The only things that really interest me about the park are the stage shows.

I really hope this doesn't change the theme of old time Hollywood that I really love about the park. Especially the Great Movie ride, I'd sprint over there at the end of every shift just to see the gangster scenario one more time and the final movie montage. I just hope they keep it the same, Woody replacing the Duke?.....I don't think so.

We were staying on property the last two days, whenever Studios was mentioned, it was always called Disney Studios..... there was no mention of Disney/MGM Studios.....

I'm pretty sure that name change is real.... probably first of the year?!?!
