|
|
Disney put out a press release stating how they are placing nutritional limits on products associated with Disney and cutting trans fat in food served in the parks...
It appears that they are only limiting the trans fat levels on in park foods and limiting sugar and calories for "fast food" meals....
Although it does make me wonder if this is going to effect their food promotions like breakfast cereal, pop-tarts, etc.....
Here's the CNN article: http://money.cnn.com/2006/10/16/news/companies/disney_fat.reut/index.htm?cnn=yes _________________ Up or Down North, South, East, or West An Adventurer's Life is Best! |

that's nice to hear. companies really do need to be aware of their marketing messages and biases, particularly when it comes to kids. promoting good health and positive body image are INCREDIBLY important. |

I believe this is why they have rolled our new kids menus at WDW... now, all food locations will have the exact same kids menu... including counter service and restaurants (of course buffets don't have kids menus)...
All of the dishes are served in the Mickey shaped plates and including appetizer, entree, and desert.... you can choose from a few pre-done plates or from a new a la carte menu (Kids's Picks)... There are no changes to the current Disney dinning plans, these are included....
Pita Pizza - with diced chicken and mozzarella cheese, served with shredded vegetable salad and brown-sugar apples $7.49
Just Dip It - assorted fruits, vegetables, chicken salad and yogurt $7.49
Chicken Strips - served with barbecue sauce, sweet potato sticks, green beans, carrots and yogurt parfait $7.49
KID'S PICKS:
The Items available under "Kid's Picks" may vary slightly among restaurants, but all include choice of one appetizer, one entree and one dessert:
Appetizers: Vegetable Salad OR Soup (type of soup varies, e.g. Vegetarian Minestrone; Creamy Tomato; Chicken Noodle)
Entrees: Two selections offered, vary according to restaurant (e.g., Macaroni and Cheese OR Hamburger with Fries; Cheese or Pepperoni Pizza OR Spaghetti with Tomato Sauce; Macaroni and Cheese OR Hot Dog with Fries)
Desserts: Fruit Salad OR Ice Cream
Great time to be a kid at Disney huh... _________________ Up or Down North, South, East, or West An Adventurer's Life is Best! |

I've seen the frozen banana's dipped in chocolate, they are all over the parks (usually at a ice cream stand).... _________________ Up or Down North, South, East, or West An Adventurer's Life is Best! |

They probably won't change their menu too much, probably just how they cook some of the food. Like using different types of oil to fry things, instead of veggie oil, things like that.... I don't think burgers, fries, etc... are going away any time soon, at least not for adults... _________________ Up or Down North, South, East, or West An Adventurer's Life is Best! |
