In the desert woke up to a light dusting of snow and quite cold for this time of year high in the 40s today and not much above 50 all week ... headed to The Land end of week and weather will be perfect for us, chance of ran - cuts down on the crowds - and temps in the upper 50s ...

We keep doing this roller coaster of 60 degrees one day, then 30 degrees the next. Then, yesterday, this awesome lightning storm rolled through. Today was dry and 30s, but we go back to 60s tomorrow and we're supposed to get 4 inches of rain.

The desert is in the grips of unusual weather - normals are in the 70s, got up to 24 and snow predicted for tomorrow ... what's up Mother Nature

Similar boat here in Tennessee: Weather was so warm I was able to eat lunch outside (I found this little hole-in-the-wall taco stand that is gloooooorious). But it's supposed to start raining tomorrow, and we're in the 30s by weekend. I dunno.

Spring is fast approaching here in the desert temps rising and plenty of sunshine and glorious flowers are appearing ... but SW Colorado where I am headed is still in the grips of winter, snow for the next 10 days except Tues - when we make our excape ...

It's funny you mentioned Spring! Because of the warm rains the last few days, then a sudden shock of sun, the trees have started showing blooms. We were crying out "Noooooo!" because we're supposed to drop to the 30s this weekend!

Nature, stop confusing the plant life!!!

Yep, signal to Spring in the deset is the mighty mesquite tree, when it starts to leaf out there will be no more freezes - well here it is March 1 and no leaves yet ... crazy for sure ...

Been in SW Colorado almost a week now and rain and snow almost every day, warming though so not sticking in the valley but mountains are stacking up - horrible avalance season this year and lots of major highways closed indefinitely ... crazy ... Spring is just around the corner ...

Here in Tennessee the weather has been fantastic as well - 60/70s with a light breeze. As a former Californian, I often tell my friends on days like this that we just need a little salt on the air and we could be in a beach community in southern California.
