There is some heavy construction going on throughout WDW right now, here are some updates on some of that construction:

First up, updates on the construction of the new DVC tower at the Contemporary resort... demo is complete, looks like foundation construction has begun...
OVer in Norway, The Maelstrom has gone down...
Just a quick detour, never noticed the live music at Norway before...
Over at Japan, the main restaurant (Teppanyaki) and lounge (Matsu-no-ma Lounge) have closed and will never return... recent news articles discuss a new restaurant, that will focus on the fact that it is situation near the lake and no more lounge area, just one big restaurant.... Apparent, the work also requires some construction to be done from below, so large portions of the toy store section of Mitsukoshi are blocked off...
Because Teppanyaki and the Lounge are closed, they have opened a few of the F&W kiosks were brought out... one with food and the other with deserts and alcoholic drinks...
Also, in order to make sure that everything is protected, the Golden Kitties have been placed behind glass cases... heh...

I belive this is just going to be a cleaning and what-not, nothing major... should be back open in a few weeks... possible new movie...

awwwww.the kids will be bummed to find out about Teppanyaki. That was one of the fav restaurant stops on our trips. Oh sure, you can go to Bennihana for the same thing...but this was in WDW!!! Too bad. Hope the next offering is nice...and that the air conditioning works better....

Still can't find the local news article about the restaurant referbs...
But I do remember that they will be getting rid of the griddle/table setup... in lew of a more traditional restaurant layout (regular tables)...
I also remember the article talking about more focus on sushi.... As long as the sushi comes back as good as everyone said it was (never got a chance to try it)... _________________ Up or Down North, South, East, or West An Adventurer's Life is Best!

Thank goodness the Golden Kitties are protected! Were they still able to wave?
I'm dissapointed that the grills are being removed. It's what made that resturant. I know it's low volume that way, but it's far more fun. _________________ When you're curious, you find lots of interesting things to do.

When it reopens, it is supposed to have a new name also...
