May just have to stop by for that! I still frequent the parks a lot and the wife and I are going to Disneyland again October 10-20, so the Jamboree falls at just the right time before we go.

Ah thank you Ellory, I think I may just have to show up then - wait, does that mean you're buying first drinks? Kungaloosh!! Sadly, the wife has to work, but we can all go give her a hard time at Imagination if we can lure her out of the stocking room in back, lol! She'll be joining up later in the day on Saturday. Not sure about Sunday yet as it's Halloween month, and I'm a huge Haunt fan and always attend the "other park's" event every Sunday and Thursday.

i'm so happy i found this site.
i was a CM from may 1979 to november 1988.
i sold a boxcar full of popcorn and at least a thousand frozen bananas and easily ten thousand MM ice cream bars.i spent a lot of time listening to the bg music and the stream here really brings me back.

my first summer (1979) i made 2.95 an hour. sold ice cream at the corner of main street. 35 cents per cone. 1.05 for three. and guests complained about how expensive it was.
when i started selling popcorn, it was 50 cents a box.
last time i was there, i think it was 2.50 or so.
i DID sell the best popcorn in the park. the trick was to know the right amount of oil to use (don't just push the button and hope the machine gets it right.) pre-heat the kettle and DON'T use too much salt.
my popcorn was declared the best in the park by former supreme court justice warren burger. (this, at the world's largest press party.) |
