I've been hearing stories that a new movie would be debuted for Canada. Finally I've found something definite about this.
Martin Short says new film at Epcot provides more realistic view of Canada
I might add that I love Cinemagique, starring Martin Short, at Disney Studios in Paris. I hope the new Canada movie is equally as humorous. _________________ --Rita |

This sounds like a good improvement. I think it is a good idea they updated the movie. And Martin Short is usually pretty entertaining... |

I always liked the Canada movie. But something new for time to time is a
good thing. Look foward to seeing it. |

A new movie sounds nice but I hope they keep the song... |

Unfortunately I missed the new film when I visited WDW a few weeks ago, but I have now seen a video of it on YouTube.
It's not bad. It's a bit more comedic (the French Pavilion gets made fun of, as does the line for Soarin') and Martin Short does all of the narration (like the narrator in Reflections of China). It's also shorter. Canada, You're a Lifetime Journey is featured at the end by the Canadian Idol singer as promised, and there is some footage fans of the old film will recognize sprinkled in here and there.
The new score by Bruce Brourghten is nice; I wasn't blown away but he did a good job as always.
Overall, not bad. It lacks the charm of the original, but its a fun film, more up to date, and its great to see the CircleVision art form continue. |
