So will you be preparing a batch of your famous popcorn fro the UAB crowd making the jamboree? |

ha, actually former chief justice.
here's the whole story:
I was working "the world's largest press party" an after hours hard ticket event in the magic kingdom. if i remember correctly, this was to celebrate the 5th anniversary of the opening of Epcot Center and the bicentennial of the US Constitution. (or something like that. the google fails me.) two interesting things happened that night:
1) an aide to Chief Justice Burger got a second and then a third serving of popcorn from me. on his third trip back, I joked with him that "he must be hungry." that was when he explained that it was "for his boss, they had been all over the park and had thrown out most of what they got from the other wagons. he said that "the chief had just about given up on disney popcorn" but then they got settled at the train station to watch the parade, and the rest was popcorn history. i don't care if the aide was telling the truth or not, i'm sticking to the story!
2) all the food was free that night, and so our lines were longer than normal. my high school chorus teacher got some popcorn from me. (I guess he had some students performing somewhere.) he had been one of my favorite teachers and his comments about how well my career was working out was probably THE reason i left WDW to get a "real job."

so sorry. my travel budget is shot this year. we're taking a week at thanksgiving out of state, then a WDW trip in early december. last time i was there, none of the kids working the wagons wanted to let a guest show them how to make better popcorn. not even from a guest who's actually met orville redenbacher. you guys have a great time. |

I'm sure they will miss your popcorn... As far the current popcorn makers... What can you expect from a bunch of kids who are SURE they know more than "Adults".
I sympathize with missing the Jamboree. I can't make it either... Seems the kids school doesn't like them missing that much school or something. go figure. |

Hello all, Scott here..
I LOVE this site!! I just discovered it yesterday (12/10/07)! How wonderful to have such a collection of past and present Disney. I currently work for WDW Coronado Springs resort. as a Lobby Concierge. I have been working at Disney for about 16 months now. I am originally from Atlanta, GA, and have been coming to Disney every few years on vacation with the family nearly my whole life. |
