The only time I listen to UAB is at my dad's house because here at my mom's the speakers don't work... so I stay here a answer the forums to gain points for when I can listen to it

When I'm there I request them while doing homework, so I never have to leave the computer Bad PC or unles someone does that to my computer. Very Happy

Today I requested 3 tracks, and as fate would have it missed all of them for meetings, spouse and other assorted reasons.

Mad do we have an avatar for preaching from a soapbox or throwing a tantrum?

I was just thinking about this earlier today. I made my requests and got called away from my cube hence missing all 3.

I think I have missed about 75% of them but I still enjoy them. As regards Ellory's ability to hear all of his........

I am SO green with envy now...

If I'm in a conference call, I'll mute the call when my track comes on Laughing

I can't listen at work, blocked. Sad

But when I do listen at home I make my DW and DD go away until
I get my requests.
Otherwise I'm Grumpy.

and here I thought it was just me who missed my requested tracks all the time.

At least I know I'm not alone any more.

So maybe we should all request each others requests to try and make our own luck, in that the correct request matches up with the correct person at the right time, as the actual requester will be called away or have something come up and not have to feel bad, because it wasn't a request they really wanted to hear in the first place and something they wanted to hear will be playing for them when they get back.

If that made any sense.

Um, are you suggesting we let someone else make requests for us and we can make them for another like a round robin? I see two comments to this suggestion.

Isn't that kinda what we do now with the whole community request thingee?
You really like all that Off-Kilter stuff being requested for ya?

First of all, I neither like or dislike Off Kilter. I like to do my best to stay out of THAT debate that rages on here everyday....

And to translate what I was saying before (which I was only being half serious about anyway. Tone is always so hard to read on these things!): Since it seems a portion of the population here misses out on tracks that they have specifically requested due Murphy's Law (i.e.; to a phone call, or a meeting or a crying kid or whatever), we should try and counteract fate by requesting OTHER peoples favorite tracks, in the thought that while I go ahead and request say a Poly track for Eatmon74, while I don't mind the track at all, I will likely miss out on hearing it. Then he goes and requests Big Thunder Mountain Queue Music, because it should then, theoretically play once I am back and listening. Make sense?

Now, that being said, it will all end up being a moot point, because that phone call is still going to come in a the wrong time, or the door bell will ring, or the meeting will start. So really, it's all useless.

There had been an idea floating around to allow some one to knock thier own requests to the back of the queue to avoid this.

Probably on some to-do list somewhere....
