Torn on this one.
Have a trip planned in Aug (yay!). Knew where we wanted to stay, what kind of room etc, so we booked directly through Disney. Kray's friend is a Disney agent who said she'd be more than happy to watch our reservation for any future discounts. And woohoo, now have a 1 bedroom for just $300 more than the studio we originally booked. (This is over a10 day stay.).
Having been to Disney a whole bunch of times, I like looking online and seeing what's available. But, if you have a travel agent you trust, I think it's easier for them to keep track of deals as they get announced.
I know, I know, TL; DR.
Would you rather do a couple of shorter trips & go more often or stay longer but not as often? |

Definitely stay longer! We enjoy "moving in" to our room that first night. Plus, plane tickets are always the same whether your staying 4 days or 10.
If you could financially go as often as you like,
Buy a DVC membership or pick a different resort every time? |

I'd buy a DVC membership at Boardwalk. Love being able to walk to 2 parks, the Boardwalk at night, and of course the Bellevue Lounge.
You've won the lottery!
Would you rather Disney let you rent Walts apartment or rent the Castle suite? |

Castle Suite. Would love to see Walt's apartment, but would be loathe to disturb it by staying there.
Most likely to make you cry a !ittle:
Ray's funeral (and his finally getting to join Evangeline), or Sully's smile upon getting to see Boo again and her off screen "Kitty!"? |

Most likely Ray's funeral.
Cost no object - Add more monorail lines or more skyliner? |

Monorails, I think. Seems that with the regularity of thunder storms in Florida (and lightning) that skyliners will be closed often.
Dark rides or thrill rides? |

Daytime parades are my personal preference. Truly would love to have gotten to see Paint the Night in person, though!
IllumiNations dessert party or Happily Ever After dessert party? |

Looked up the illuminations party. It's now the frozen ever after dessert party. In case of inclement weather the party moves indoors. To a large 2nd floor, air conditioned room in the Norway Pavilion.
Would love to see that, so Illuminations it is!
Fastpass Viewing for Illuminations or rent a pricey, private boat to view Illuminations from the World Showcase Lagoon? |
