Yes! When E.V.E. first encounters Wall-E, she tries several languages before landing on English to communicate with him.

This actor was in several Disney films playing the same character.

His performances were so effective in creating an image, that in pretty much every movie after that & to this day (Disney or not, animated or not) everyone playing that character (or character type) based their performance on his.

No. His name may not be as well known as the character he portrayed that became the blue print for pretty much everyone.

His was a live action portrayal, depicting a real profession (although unless you're traveling by water near Somalia you're unlikely to run into someone in this occupation).

Well, shoot. My next guess was going to be Johnny Weissmuller/Tarzan, but that’s hardly a real profession, in Somalia or anywhere else. Think I’ll stick with that as my guess, while I ponder this a little more!

Not Tarzan.
Disney's latest iteration using the stereotype this man created has released 5 films with a 6th in the works.

It is a pirate. THE pirate if you will. Long John Silver as portrayed by Robert Newton in 1950's Treasure Island.
All the mannerisms & "aarghs", etc he used became the basis for almost every pirate character after him.
Also - I love Errol Flynn!

What vintage character was originally set to be voiced by jazz legend Louis Armstrong, but ultimately was brought to life by another performer instead?

Can't remember the name, but I believe there was a jazz cat in The Aristocats?

Great guess, but no. On the right track with an animal character, though!

I love that character!

What do the stories for Cinderella & Sleeping Beauty have in common?
