Might not be the right answer, but when the clue is "mythical" I think of Hercules. |

Sorry, not Hercules.
Mythical as in not a real creature now or ever. This one in particular has a tv show (from the 60s) which featured astronauts. |

Nope, not Baloo. TV show featured a very young "J.R. Ewing" and the mythical character looked like a human female. |
