Who designs Disney Stores?

I know the IMagineers designed the one if SF, NYC, and Vegas and maybe a few others but what about the other local ones. Is it it's own branch of designers or what?

Mu guess would be Hoop (current owner of the Disney Store) has a set plan depending on the store type. This is typical in retail; same store layout so no matter where you shop, it's the same experience. But I would also guess Disney has a hand in it.

WoD (Florida, California & NYC) are still owned by Disney, and I'm sure they are their own designer.

Hoop which owns The Children's Place bought the Disney Stores a little over a year ago.

The few Disney stores around here did not change much with the new owners. The rooms are still layed out the same way and the theming is still there.... in fact, they are almost the same layout, with different theming....

Disney probably had three or four set layouts, depending on the store size and location. When the stores were being built, they probably just choose the correct template for that store size..... there were probably templates for the theming also.... just use a diffenent template then was using in nearby stores, so they are identicle....

Now, whether Hoop is using the same templates/plans or has their own, I don't know.... I haven't heard of any new Disney Stores since ownership changed hands.....

BTW, the two small Disney gift shops at the Orlando Airport are still owned by Disney (as far as I know). I'm pretty sure, because they sell in-park merchandise at this two locations, not the typical Disney Store fare. I will be out there this Thursday, I can double check.... maybe some photos, if they are decorated for Christmas....

Hoop is converting MOST existing Disney Stores to a new format/layout. A little brighter than the original layouts and the theming is pretty good, but I think the overall goal is store efficiency and functionality. Going from carpet to tile on the floors, no animatronics, etc. It's not a bad layout, but it does make it look very different from the old, original layout.

Personally, I love the old store format. It's so....Disney. But, after working there for a bit, the new layout is far better for product and upkeep.

i saw one of the 'old-new' test-layout disney store locations back in 2001 or so, before the stores were sold, when they were still toying with ways to transition into...something else, lol. it was ugly. ugly ugly ugly. it was the south coast plaza location, in costa mesa. very functional, with korkoid or linoleum on the floors and blonde wood walls with brushed chrome accents. didn't look like a disney store. it was more like...the sharper image, hit with a boring stick. hehehe. whatever the new owners have done, i'm sure it can't be as bad as that.
