Hi WDW Fan,
iphones are WIFI equipped which is just like having a wireless card in your home computer system.
Phone time issues are relative to someone's contract and minutes. Obviously it wouldn't be much of an issue with someone who has unlimited minutes
Hope that helps. _________________

For battery time I can't comment, but it doesn't seem to suck up any more battery than playing music or surfing the net with safari regularly.
As for charges, even when WiFi isn't available it still works great over EDGE. My plan is for unlimited data, so that works. I'm on TMobile, so I can't comment on AT&T. Data and minutes however, are almost always seperate. With non-unlimited plans you usually have a set amount of minutes per month and also a set amount of data transfer. You can usually get an unlimited data plan even with a limited minutes plan; mine costs about $20 a month for unlimited data.
Instructions are essentially thus. First you will need to jailbreak your iPhone; instructions for that can be found online. Please know that you do so at your own risk. Using installer.app, navigate to the Multimedia section and to the iRadio application and install it. Once in the iRadio application, UAB is listed in the "Variety" genre.
iRadio will keep playing even if you navigate to other programs. I like to have safari open with the Now Playing page (even over EDGE it can usually handle both). The volume adjustment can be kind of weird; essentially you need to adjust both the system volume AND the iPod volume. It will take a little tinkering, but you should be able to get it at a comfortable level fairly easily.
That's it! Nothing to it. |

I know the AT&T data network is really good and works great... I was able to drive to and from Cocoa Beach (from Orlando), listening on my phone the whole time. No drops, no issues... I was even able to make some requests at the same time.
It's all about coverage area... _________________ Up or Down North, South, East, or West An Adventurer's Life is Best! |

Is there a way to do this without jailbreaking the iPhone? I tried jailbreaking it and it cause several of my purchased applications to crash. I have several programs for streaming music from the internet, just not quite sure how to get any of them to work with UAB. |

It would be wicked sweet to have an app for UAB!
But I that's too much, maybe it could at least get added as a station on another radio app like Flycast or something? _________________ Doing the impossible is pretty fun - Walt Disney

To the Tech Geeks,
Forget Windows, Mac (ugh) and Unix and go with a nice stable IBM Midrange platform...
As far as putting it on the IPhone ... um cant we just get it added to Sirius? |

So, you want the ability to listen to UAB on an iSeries? Hmmm....since I am an RPG programmer by trade, maybe I can write something... _________________ When you're curious, you find lots of interesting things to do.

There is a reason you've been forbidden to write code for years. _________________ [ |

Sirius is great if you can put up with the AWFUL radios. I've had it for about 3 years and I'm on my 4th radio, the Stiletto. It's full of bugs and very annoying to use, but terrestrial radio is unlistenable.
I'd love to get UAB on my iPhone - I could cancel my Sirius subscription. |

hey first post here. i've found a pretty easy solution for listening to UAB on my iphone and other streaming radio feeds. I downloaded the app called CastCatcher. It's not a free app, it costs $1.99 but you can then input the .pls url and stream away. I love it and it works great. I just need to find out how i can get access to the premium stream.
here is the link to the app, and let me know what you guys think
