Fifty-three years ago today, "The Happiest Place On Earth" made its historical debut! Sounds like it's time for another party! _________________ John |

Not sure if you guys knew this but:
One July 17,1955:
-4,000 people were invited to the opening, over 20,000 showed up due to conterfit tickets
-No toliets or water fountains worked due to a plumber's strike. Although, the elephants did spray water on the Jungle Cruise
-It was the hottest day on record that year for Anaheim
-The pavement was still soft, all the heels of the women's shoes got stuck
-A gas leak closed Fantasyland |

If I saw a castle cake, I'd be expecting things to be coming out of it... |

Actually, Walt had a choice, water fountains or toilets...he decided toilets were FAR more important. So, toilets WERE working, but it was due to a flip of a coin. _________________ When you're curious, you find lots of interesting things to do.
