I hope everything goes smoothly and the recovery goes quickly. DaveyPoo has been the topic of many conversations here at work today - so many people are thinking of him.

The doctor came out at 12:30 to see Elizabeth and I. I can't tell you how relieved I was to see him. He said David did well. I won't bore you with the medical terms, but he enlarged the spinal canal so the nerves wouldn't be pinched any longer.

He came back an hour later to check on David and said the paralysis in his right foot was GONE!!! I cried! This was one of the issues David was worried about. Now we wait to see if the severe pain he was experiencing is gone. The Physician's Assistant said it should be now that the nerves aren't being pinched. Please keep your fingers crossed!

Thanks!

Oh the magic of pixie dust. And modern medicine helped too.

DP will be out walking the parks in no time, I have no doubt.

Continued best wishes to DP and Deb and the family.

Tonight's update:

Elizabeth and I just got home. We were finally able to get in and see David around 5pm. He was still in recovery because they were concerned about his blood sugar level. It was low and they were waiting for the doctor to assess whether or not to put something in his IV to help regulate it. As it turns out, the doctor showed up close to 6 and okayed the IV order. They also decided to send him to ICU for the night so he could be better monitored. I was glad they went this route.

I was able to talk to the Physician's Assistant briefly before we saw David and while the paralysis is gone in his right ankle she was saying there is still some weakness they are hoping can be strenthened with physical therapy.

That's about it for tonight. What a long day! Elizabeth and I are exhausted. I'll post more tomorrow. Thanks for the continued pixie dust! Very Happy

I apologize for the delay in yesterday's update. I was exhausted when we got home last night.

David is doing well. Progressing normal according to the nurses and his physician's assistant. They kept him in ICU for another night because his heart rate was a bit elevated but when I called the hospital this morning, his nurse said he'll be moving soon so they can start physical therapy. He may be coming home tomorrow.
