OK, here is the situation, My wife an I are pregnant and will be first time parents. We just recently found out, and figured that the perfect time to tell the family is on a planned day trip to Disneyland in CA. We thought of 4 creative ways to let people know:

1) Ask a character to pass a note to the Mothers
2) Dinner at the Grand Californian
3) Exiting a thrill ride right at the end of the line and saying pregnant people can't ride
4) Telling Mothers on a kiddies ride to tug at their heat strings

Any thoughts out there on other ideas, or what way sounds like a winner to you?

Well we did the same thing when we found we were pregnant. It was right when Space Mtn. had re-opened and all of the family wanted to ride it first thing. We went through the queue and right when we said she couldnt ride due to their expectant mother policy. Totally threw them for a good one.

I like the characters giving a note to the mothers. A nice Disney touch. My second favorite would be on a kiddie ride.

Somehow when I was pregnant, I just gravitated towards Dumbo... The whole stork thing and the song "Baby Mine".

Maybe do something involving the Dumbo ride?

Congratulations on your happy news! How exciting for you both!

With under 1 month to go until our trip, we chose the following way: Characters. We are going to make a card before hand stating that there will be a new addition to the family... have a character sign it.... put it in an envelope, and give it to the family who will standing at the front of the line waiting to take a picture. Thanks for all the input everybody!!!!!!!!

Good ideas! Very clever.

you could even organize ahead of time with a cast member on one of the rides where they give safety spiels over a microphone, to mention your name when they say "expectant mothers should not ride this ride".

or go to one of the character dining places, have the character take a picture of your family together with a fake toon camera/infant toy camera or something, pretend its a polaroid and have the character hand your parents a pre-made photo done with photoshop or something, of just you, with a type of xray vision on your belly showing a baby inside.

or if you can't hold it, when your going into the disney parking lot (and you're all driving together) stop and ask the attendant where expectant mother parking is: see what your parents say.

My wife couldn't hold the news any longer so she sprung the good word early. We didn't tell the grandparents to be that it looks like twins, so we are going to seach out Chip and Dale, or Tweedle Dee and Dum and have them give a card to the grandparents saying we are expecting twins.

That sounds like a great way to tell them about the twins! Good luck! Keep us posted. Smile
