WOW! I had no idea how many there were like me out there and there's only a handful on this forum!

With that being said, I really shouldn't care about what people think about "an adult at a child's theme park". I love to be there and that should be all that matters.

I also would love to get a job there doing anything at all once I retire; but I have to keep in mind that I am still raising a 6 year old. I need a little more stability than that until he has moved on.

At least when I retire from the military I will have some money coming in, so I just need to get another job for about 10-15 years and retire again! Then I can try and get my Disney greeter position! I'd rather stand in the heat all day and say welcome to Disney than welcome to Wal Mart anytime. Not that there is anything wrong with that, I like WDW better. Laughing

Donna wants to work in the candy store on Main Street. She specializes in Rice Krispy treats.

I'll be happy sweeping.

And who says it's a kids' park. We enjoy strolling, people watching, visiting the quiet out of the way places and shopping. Epcot has become our most favorite place for the shows and adult beverages. A pint of Guinness and Illuminations! That is the best.

Just kidding! That time frame is the time frame I am eligible for retirement.

We plan on going next Christmas for my sons 8th birthday. I couldn't go 6 years without visiting WDW since I live in Pensacola. That would be crazy!

As far as saying it's a kids park, I was just responding to an earlier post about people making gestures to us more mature patrons attending supposed childrens theme parks. I agree that EPCOT with a Guiness waiting for Illuminations is fantastic!

Whens the last time you seen a 6 year old with a Budweiser at EPCOT watching the drummers in China? Some people just don't get what Disney World is all about...like someone stated early about Walt; it's for all ages (or something like that). Confused

Hope everyone is well.

Whenever my husband and I are at Disney, I always say, "Why do people come here with kids? That's too much work." Very Happy We're both in our 30s, and I have as much fun as the kids. Ten days til the Last Tour to Endor! Woohoo!

Honestly I couldn't agree more! When I took my little boy last year, what a nightmare! Don't get me wrong, it was great and it was worth the look on his face, but WOW, what a mess logistically.

Stroller, food, water, clothes, crowds, where do I stop Surprised !

I'd rather go myself (or with wife?) and just go in empty handed...no worries and no extra stuff! Very Happy

That's not entirely true; I want my boy to love WDW just as much as I do... Smile

That's why Donna and I are not having any kids! We'll enjoy the grandkids. And after the vacation, they go home with their parents until the next time adn we get some rest. (Actually, we miss them when they are not around.)

At one point in time I was considering taking a vacation by myself and going to the parks. However, I think that it wouldn't be as much fun and moreover it would be just strange to wander around by myself. Confused

Do you know of anyone who has gone by themselves? If so, do you know if they enjoyed the experience Question

I think DaveyPoo has gone by himself. But he is alone in a crowd.

Sounds like he needs a hug. Crying or Very sad

Well, I'm not sure if I want to go alone, but it sure would let me pick what I want to do. But that seems selfish to me; the mouse is about family and friends...

Thanks to all for all your input and sharing. The UAB site is loads of fun...I'm glad I found it. Very Happy

Man, I am totally jealous. I heard about this only a couple weeks ago, and if I could afford to just fly down there on a whim, I would have booked my flight and stay that day.

Sounds like it's going to be a lot of campy fun.

Too old heck no never too old, I'm so wanting to go home to central Florida again. It's what keeps me young and when I bring my new wife with me she will feel it too. Cause I'll keep her that way. AP and many many trips to WDW and the rest of the parks. Orlando is for the young and young at heart great get away even better place to live.
