Earlier today, Disney announced the new domestic park (WDW & DLR) campaign: "Let the Memories Begin". The focus of this campaign is guests, using submitted photos and videos as part of the campaign itself and even a special show at the Magic Kingdom and Disneyland. You can read about the details here: http://www.wdwmagic.com/Events/Let-the-Memories-Begin/News/23Sep2010-Disney-Guests-Become-Stars-of-Castle-Show-and-TV-Ads-As-Walt-Disney-World-and-Disneyland-‘Let-the-Memories-Begin’.htm

You can see a preview of the castle projection show here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m4Lcj10Y6Aw

It looks amazing... I only hope they update all of the firework shows (or roll out new ones) that utilize the new HD projections, like they do at Disneyland...

The only gripe I've seen from Disney fans is that the press conferece was a big production for such a small promo. There were unrealistic hopes for things like new parks, lands, etc. rather than just a promo campaign.

Regarding the announcement show, I agree with alot of other people... it was long, boring, and really wasn't worth the hype. Other than the new campaign (which had already been leaked), they only mentioned the expanded cruise line and rehashed Star Tours 2. Nothing about the DCA reimaging, Fantasyland Expansion... no announcements about any of the long rumored projects (DHS Expansion, Monsters Inc Coaster @ DHS, more Muppets, new countries @ Epcot, any Imagination related work, etc...).

All in all, major hype and hoopla with minor announcements...

There is a test/demo of the stuff online which looks interesting (same tech they are using to turn the Hollywood Pictures Backlot into Tron City) but I can't imagine it will draw customers into the park just for the chance that they will see a family vacation photo projected on a building.
