i agree that 'florida' is an unlikely soarin' focus, for a number of reasons. the california theme is tenuous enough, but it works with 'the land' because we have a huge and diverse agricultural economy as well as large variety of interesting natural features.
a united states focus makes sense. if they plan on exporting the attraction elsewhere, though, they're likely to go with a 'world' focus so as to cover multiple bases for the cost of one or one and a half projects instead of two (or three or four).
i don't know how easy it is to switch up omnimax/imax shows on a frequent basis...but if it IS possible, they could institute a disneyland circlevision type schedule (american journeys in the morning, wonders of china in the afternoon, lol). or do a weekly or seasonal switch. or whatever.

I think if the different movies have the same choreography (vehicle movements and scents) and are being projected with a digital projector, then changing the movies should be fairly simple and easy...
The biggest issue between changing movies if hte choreography of the ride, you have to make sure you are loading the corresponding movie, ride movement program, scent program, etc.... at the same time....
Where, if you have the same vehicle movement and scent programs, the movie can be whatever you want...
I hope that makes sense, unless I'm having another "moment" _________________ Up or Down North, South, East, or West An Adventurer's Life is Best!

no, it makes perfect sense - i was thinking the same thing. they could actually even reuse some/all of the same scenes corresponding to the pine/orange scents. and, it's possible that the show choreography may not be all that difficult to switch over either. even seasonal changeup would be refreshing.

I'm sure programming new choreography is simple and it probably would be easy to change seasonally... I was refuring the possible difficulty in change the choreography for each show...
Seasonly or monthly would probably be easier then changing every 5-10 mins... _________________ Up or Down North, South, East, or West An Adventurer's Life is Best!
From what I've been told, the current Soarin' movie took quite a while to film. Disney had to get permission for a couple of the scenes, and that permission took about 1-1/2 years to obtain. The scenes specifically are the jet fly-by and the scene over a marine sanctuary.
So if they continue in this vein, it may take a while to film a new movie (although they've probably been working on it for a while now). _________________ --Rita
