Wal-Mart Stores Inc. is firmly planted on the Hannah Montana bandwagon.
The big-box retailer already sells Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus clothes, music and toys.
Now the Arkansas-based retailer (NYSE:WMT) is offering free back-to-school wake-up calls from the teen pop star as well as notices for other school events. The recorded messages are free though mobile charges will apply if applicable, Wal-Mart said Wednesday.
Participants can schedule up to five calls per e-mail address registered.
Wal-Mart is partnering the Walt Disney Co. (NYSE:DIS) on the program. Burbank-based Disney owns the rights to Hannah Montana's cable show and music CDs.
