Just wondering if I am doing somthing wrong...
I am listening to the broadcast via VLC media player, and the song that shows as playing in the bottom status bar of the player is not the same as what is currently playing. For instance, at the moment Billy Hill & The Hillbillies is playing but it shows that the song currently playing is music from the Grand Floridan.
Also, the website's "now playing" shows that somthing from Club 33 is playing.
Any thoughts? |

The media player now playing stream just flat out does not work. I don't know if it's way ahead or way behind, or maybe just incorrect altogether, but it isn't accurate at all.
The "now playing" section on the website often lags behind by one to two minutes. |

The now playing page is displayed as the track is played from our server. Depending on your connection, and audio player your using, it may lag behind by a few seconds. I have yet to see it at 2 minutes however, unless a UAB "commercial" is being played.
Also, if you're using a toolbar or other application, you may need to clear your temp memory from time to time.
Everything is working fine at our end.
Hope that helps |

To further explain what Ellory stated, only the "Now Playing Page" will show the correct track. All other media players will NEVER show the correct track as part of our security measures to prevent people from stealing our tracks. And Ellory is correct, the delay between what you see and what you hear is only seconds, not minutes (depending on YOUR buffer in YOUR computer). The only other time you'll not see the correct information is for a "secret mystery track, commercial or UAB station ID spot. _________________ When you're curious, you find lots of interesting things to do.

Using Winamp, the latest update to Firefox and a fairly fast cable connection, my media stream is currently 54 seconds behind what the Now Playing page lists as the current track, which is what I meant to say. The Now Playing page never lags.
The player lags behind the Now Playing page, not the other way around, as I said in my first post. My bad. |

Hey guys, on another note, here's what our Broadcast FAQs has to say about your question:
We are well aware of this “undocumented feature”. In fact it’s intentional. This is one of many security features implemented into Utilidors Audio Broadcasting to protect against piracy. As a listener there is no way to change it.
