UAB's frequent interruptions explained

Hi Everyone,

I apologize for being scarce around here lately. Unfortunately life responsibilities have me knee deep with little wiggle room.

On another note. I'm sure it's become a bit of a curiosity why UAB has had sporadic outages over the last month or so. Basically it comes down to a service provider issue that has me pretty fuming over the lack of service we've been getting.

Basically it comes down to a connection expiration at which point I'm being forced to reboot a router here at UAB central. Unfortunately, we dont have onsite support 24x7 so it's not something anyone is able to get to immediately if we don't catch it at the right time. As most of you know, the connection should never be dropping to begin with, and should remain constant


Please rest assured that we're well aware of the problem and have fully identified the issue. We'll keep everyone abreast with what we're doing to rectify the issue.

I wish the admins on some of the other communities I frequent were as hands-on and forthcoming as they are here.

I just wish I could be more hands on at the moment. There's a laundry list about a mile long that I need to tend to with UAB. I have however made accommodations to hopefully keep UAB more active on the development and features side as soon as things get a bit more settled.
