This woman is out of control. I don't know what it will be like as we get closer. I may have to sedate her. _________________ [ |

back to work from our DL/Vegas/WDW extravaganza trip. lines at F&W this past weekend were pretty hefty, but at least the temps are cooler than last year! probably due to the fact it started a bit later and we brought all the heat out to Anaheim with us... |

Last week, on Monday, we got our Magical Express packet, and on Friday, we got our vacation package packet.
Disney vacation is now officially imminent! |

This New England winter has been brutal with more to come this week. And it is still January. So, Donna-Lee and I sat down last night and booked rooms and flights for our next get away. It won't be until early May, but just having the room reservation and flights booked made it feel warmer already. That and the electric blanket turned to high.
Of course in typical Donna-Lee fashion a long weekend turned into 6 days. She does this every time. But I didn't argue since my grankids are down that way.
Anybody else headed down that way at that time. _________________ [ |

I'm considering a trip, too, for pretty much the same reasons you just booked yours (and because we got an awesome room-only discount PIN code). We'd be going in October, though.
I'm still not 100% sold on the idea, but I'm buying into it more and more everyday and with every inch of snow. |

October is a great time. Crowds aren't bad, weather is good, food and wine festival is going on. Lots to see and do. The parks are decorated for Halloween. Take in MNSSHP if you have never done it. _________________ [ |

I agree. It's my favorite time of year in the parks for those reasons exactly. Keep me posted when you're here in May and we can all meet up for a pint! |

Oh, October or early November is when we typically go. We love the Food and Wine Festival and do our best not to miss it.
The problem is, this year, we have two weddings on opposite weekends to attend in California, which means we have to be out there for two weeks. It kind of puts a damper on our typical Food and Wine plans, you know?
Then again, 35% off of a moderate is really, really hard to pass up when you're in the market for a bargain. |

Well, it sounds like you need to be planning a trip to DISNEYLAND instead
We're hitting a little earlier this year--last week of September for WDW and the weekend cruise on the Dream. Should still be a good time! though Food and Wine is nice. The folks puking in the shrubs and late evening crowds at EPCOT really aren't worth it after five years.

But we are planning a trip to Disneyland. We'll be staying at the Disneyland Hotel for three nights between the two weddings. It's going to be a lot of travel time, though. We'll be flying into Sacramento, attending the first wedding in Tahoe, going to Disneyland and then attending the second wedding in Sonoma.
We are going to beat the ever-lovin' tar out of a rental car.
But, on top of all of that... 35% off French Quarter and Food and Wine...
It's really hard to talk myself out of it. I'm even considering buying Premium Passes for the year in California and going again for a week in March next year just to justify the cost of it all. I think I'm sick. |

I'm still a Premium Passholder and I definitely get the use out of it. a few days in the spring a few days in the fall and a full trip at Christmas and whatever else i can fit into my budget!
Tis wondrous!

Well, that's it. We did it.
We're booked for a room at French Quarter from Oct 24 through Oct 28. With the price we were paying for the room, we just couldn't pass it up. Even if we end up not going, I'd be kicking myself for not reserving a room at that price.
(Freaking $480! Ridiculous!) |
